Adam Khoo from underachiever to millionaire

"Adam Khoo" the youngest millionaire in Singapore -36 years- offers some tips for those seeking wealth:

Some of you may already know that I travel a lot in the region, I visit my offices always in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and China. I also provide lectures and seminars in these countries. I am present at the airport almost every two weeks and I meet permanently many people who attended my seminars or have purchased my books.

Recently I met someone on a plane to Kuala Lumpur and he seemed somewhat shocked. He asked me: "How a millionaire like you travel in economy class?"
My reply was: "This is why I became a millionaire." My words did not seem to convince him!
This underscores the biggest lie formulated about wealth, as I explained in my recent book (secrets of self-made millionaire)

The brains of people were washed to believe that millionaires always wear well-known brands such as Gucci, Hugo Boss and Rolex, and traveling only by air via first class, While in fact this is the main reason of poverty of some people, when they get more money, they believe that their duty is to spend sums of money more than usual, and the result is a return to the previous standard of living.
While the reality is that most self-made millionaires are very frugal people. So, they are able to raise funds and to double their wealth much faster than the others.

I will give you a very personally example. Over the last seven years, I was spare about 80% of my income. Today, I spare about 60% because I got married and became obliged to spend on my wife, her mother, two children, two domestic employees in addition to me. However, the proportion of savings is greater than most people who do not save more than 10% of their income at best.
I refuse to buy tickets for travel on first class and I refuse to buy a T-shirt price of $ 300 because I believe that this is a waste of money. But I pay $ 1,300 immediately and without thinking to send my daughter, who at the age of two years, to attend a stake in Julia Gabriel Institute for the development of children's skills.

When I joined a few years ago to Youth Enhancement Organization (YEO), the club was limited to young people who are under forty years old, and earn over a million dollars of their own business annually, A lot of young members had companies valued at more than $ 5 million. I noticed that all of them were self-made like me, traveling in economy class and driving Toyota and Nissan, not Mercedes and BMW.

But it was different for non-self-made, The organization has also included the sons of ministers and the sons of the wealthy. They did not make their fortunes, but obtained without trouble. They were spending money as if tomorrow will never come, I discovered that the person who does not build itself from zero, does not know the value of money. This is the main reason why the family wealth does not continue for more than three generations in the usual.
I thank God that my rich father pay attention to this point and refused to give me one cent start doing my projects.

There is a question here: "What is the value of money if you do not enjoy it?"

The answer is simple, I do not find happiness in buying clothes and jewelry brands or travel in first class. Even if the purchase of a certain thing makes me happy, This is temporary happiness does not last. Happiness that depends on the money never lasts. On the contrary it is like a temporary anesthetic or quick fix after a while you feel unhappy again and need to another anesthetic, so you seek to purchase another commodity that you think that it will make you happy. I believe that the person who thinks that the increase of purchase would make him happy is unhappy person and lives sad and incomplete life.
What really makes me happy is to see my children laugh and play and learn quickly. What makes me happy is watching my companies grow, and watch the staff at my companies reach more and more customers every year and in many countries.

What makes me really happy is to read e-mail messages that discuss the impact of my books and my lectures in someone's life and inspiration him. This make me feel happy and satisfied a very long time much of which a Rolex watch will bring!

The point that I'm trying to reach her is that happiness must come from doing your duties in life (whether it be teaching or housing construction or design or trade or win competitions, etc.). The money is a secondary matter will come naturally as a result of doing your duties characteristically.
If you hate what you are doing, and depend on the money to become happy by buying things. I think that you live a life without meaning.
